Help with Lamphouse

Lamphouse has not been released yet. This page describes the app as it is built today.

How do I add my provider?

When the app opens for the first time, choose Add a source. Give the source a name of your own, then enter the three things your provider gave you: the server URL, your username and your password.

The server URL has to start with http or https. Lamphouse works with providers that are compatible with Xtream Codes. After you save, it loads your catalog from that provider.

We can’t tell you which provider to use, and we don’t sell, recommend or link to any.

Why is something not playing?

Lamphouse plays what your provider’s server sends. When something does not start, stops, or shows an error, the cause is usually on the provider’s side or on the network between you and it:

  • the stream is offline or overloaded at the provider;
  • your account is already in use on another device, and your plan limits how many can play at once;
  • your provider no longer accepts your username or password. The app then asks you to enter the password again;
  • your internet connection is down or slow.

For any of these, the one who can help is your provider. We have no access to your provider’s service and can’t repair or replace anything in it.

How do I manage what is stored on my device?

The app keeps your sources, a copy of your provider’s catalog, your profiles, favourites and watch history on the device. From inside the app you can:

  • Delete a source on the Sources screen (the settings button). This removes the source and its saved password. The copy of its catalog, and the favourites and watch history that came from it, stay on the device.
  • Clear a profile’s watch history from that profile’s edit screen. Favourites are kept.
  • Delete a profile. This also removes that profile’s favourites and watch history.

The app has no single button that erases everything. To do that, open the app’s entry in your TV’s Android settings and clear its data, or uninstall the app. The wording of that setting varies from one TV to another.

That covers the device. The app is also built to send crash reports, a small set of usage events and performance measurements to Google’s Firebase services, tied to an identifier created for your installation. Today there is no setting that turns this off, and no way to ask for what was already sent to be deleted; clearing the app’s data does not remove it. The app does not create an account for you, so there is no account to delete. A privacy policy with the details is not published yet.

I hold rights to something I saw through the app. Who do I contact?

Lamphouse includes no audio or video of its own, and we do not host or supply any. What a person sees in the app comes from the service that person configured.

A contact address for notices about the app itself is not published yet.

How do I contact support?

There is no support address yet, because the app has not been released.
